The Learning Portal

Project Overview

The Research Portal project was a collaboration between Ontario college libraries with a goal of creating an open educational support resource (OER) for students in the college system. I co-chaired content development of the Research Hub.

The Research Hub provides an introduction to information literacy developing students’ skills specific to research, evaluation, citing and academic honesty. Information is presented in easily accessible chunks.

As part of this project, I also developed content to support the Privacy and Security pages, part of the Digital Citizenship Hub.

Authoring Platform: LibGuides

Additional Project Resources

  2. Instructional Design Primer - document highlighting techniques that support modular content development

  3. Digital Citizenship Toolkit: Understanding Digital Citizenship - repurposed content from the Privacy and Security lessons in a Chapter co-written with library colleagues. Available for download at Ryerson University.
